Kentish Oast Raised Terrace

Hawkes has been appointed to design a raised terrace for the first-floor living area of a Kentish Oast house. The design includes sculptural cranked corten steel posts and a visually delicate tension wire balustrade, which complements the clay tiles. The terrace offers stunning garden views with overlapping steel wires for safety. For summer shading, a sail can be clipped to the topmost point of each post. This innovative design enhances both functionality and aesthetics.
