Para 84
Flint-Inspired House Design Gets Green Light
The east and west elevations of our 32nd Paragraph84 house explore the conchoidal fracturing seen when looking inside a split flint nodule. Due to the large external surface area of the house, using flint on such a scale would have been cost prohibitive when all the technical performance of the building has to be considered, so we instead looked to use architecturally profiled metal cladding for the wall surface in combination with asymmetrical window surrounds lined with a bronze coated finish.
